I’d gladly buy any of them. Unreliable cars are the best cars, they have character.

it is easier when you can work on them too. Cheaper at least. Although I have to say that Jag XJ40 was pretty damn reliable. Bosch electronics and FI, the only problem was the ebrake cables were in a bad spot to catch grime and the veneers on the real wood dash were terrible. Started every damn day, and still does (a friend bought it, then sold it to someone else, and I see it almost every day). Has to be up near 220K now

The XJ40 is the most reliable of the bunch, but that particular XJ is a Double-Six. The only downside I have with them is importing parts at 150% tax. Which one are you currently looking at?

Ah god dammit i missed the fluted grille on it. Must be getting old. The XM, though I am slanted more towards a BX GTi at the current second

they have character.

Is that what you crazy people call it? Here I thought it was just shit engineering and lazy assembly practices.

“RISE LUCAS! FOR THOU ART OUR GOD AND SAVIOR”

The Prince of Darkness has just had bad PR. In my ventures into unreliable car ownership, the name which has truly struck fear into my heart when I’ve seen it on electrical bits is Bosch. I’m pretty sure all Bosch parts commit suicide the instant they realise they haven’t been fitted into a Mercedes.
